Privacy Policy
This website is operated by the National Wildlife Crime Coordination Task Force (NWCCTF) Secretariat. We collect as little personal information as possible, and we treat what we do collect with the seriousness that a law-enforcement coordination body must.
Crime reports
When you report wildlife crime through this site, you choose what to share. You may report completely anonymously: name, phone and email are optional, and we will never require them. If you provide contact details, they are used only to follow up on your report and are visible only to authorised reports officers. Report contents, any evidence files you upload, and your contact details are stored on protected storage, are never published, and are shared only with the member institutions that need them to act on your report. We record the submitting IP address solely to protect the service from abuse; it is not used to identify anonymous reporters.
Your tracking code
Every report receives a tracking code (e.g. NWC-XXXXXX). The code is random and cannot be guessed from other codes. Anyone holding the code can view the report status — so keep it private, as you would a receipt.
Contact form and newsletter
Messages sent through the contact form (name, email, message) are used solely to respond to you. Newsletter email addresses are used solely to send Task Force updates and are removed when you unsubscribe.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses only the technical cookies required for it to function (such as a session cookie). We do not sell, trade or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Ugandan law, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, governs our handling of personal data. You may contact the Secretariat to ask what data we hold about you or to request correction or deletion, except where the data forms part of an active enforcement matter that the law requires us to retain.
